Successfull, married attorney Theresa Sautier is fatally shot in her Wiesbaden villa. Bernd Reuther starts with her ex and her house companion. Her husband, fellow attorney Thomas Sautier, celebrated a trial win in a hotel, where an employee gives him an alibi by charging him with rape. Later the 'rape victim' has a fatal car accident, most suspicious to Reuther who supposes a set-up. Yet the team must also look into Theresa's law firm and the rebel daughter Jennifer Sautier.

Vincent tried an alternative career as missionary to the Catlolic Walloon mineworkers in the Ardennes but returns, broke and failed again. Later he'll move in with Theo in Paris, but can't fit in business or society. Vincent heads for frustration and health drama. His heir, a Dutch railway engineer, later visits those places while deciding whether to sell the family paintings collection to invest in the super-fast railroad.

In a career that lasted only ten years, Vincent Van Gogh painted one subject more than any other: himself. This is the story of Vincent told using eight of his most iconic self-portraits.
